Everyone at Washington Diamond did a great job at helping me and my wife pick out the perfect wedding rings. I had bought the engagement ring at another location, but we bought the wedding rings at Washington Diamond. We got married last week and everyone who saw the rings, thought they had been bought together because of how perfectly my wife's engagement and wedding ring looked together and how my ring fit right in as well. 

On the day we bought the wedding rings, we had been to about four places before going to Washington Diamond. Our plan was just to look that day, and not to buy anything. Go to all the places, go home, and compare. But Washington Diamond just blew us away. They did not try to force anything on us. They listened when we said what we wanted and what our budget was. They then didn't just try to force on us the most expensive ring within our price range, but instead really worked with us to find the perfect rings. Once we listened to everyone at Washington Diamond, and saw the beautiful rings they had to offer, we did not hesitate to buy our rings from them that day. Our only regret was that we didn't make Washington Diamond our first stop. Everyone there is very professional, they have a great selection to fit within whatever your budget might be, and they are very knowledgeable. We were 100% satisfied with all aspects of our interaction with Washington Diamond and 100% satisfied with our purchase. Best Diamond Education Services for First… I recently was looking for a diamond engagement ring while knowing absolutely nothing about diamonds or rings at all.  After a considerable amount of researching the internet for info and potential places I happened upon Washington Diamond and signed up for an hour meeting to learn more about the process of finding and buying the perfect diamond ring.  With absolutely zero pressure to buy from them, Tom Daube went through just about everything there was to know about diamonds.  Ultimately I decided to come back and purchase my fiances ring from them after the experiencing their wonderful customer service, custom hand crafted rings and very reasonable prices.  Very highly recommend!  --Matt K, Arlington 10/27/10

I got my fiance's (now wife's) engagement ring from Washington Diamond. I got to discuss with Tom D. and was highly impressed by his trustworthiness and honesty. I knew little about diamonds and found that he seeks to educate and help you make the best purchase without trying to be pushy at all. He spent a lot of time with me looking at individual diamonds. He is both professional and personal. I also checked out some other more radio- and TV famous jewelry establishments in the DC area, but I loved Washington Diamond the best for its homey family oriented feel and came back to make my purchase.  

I did not know what setting my fiancee would like, so Tom suggested we get a temporary band. After my proposal, my fiance came back and we purchased the setting she liked with the diamond I got beforehand. She has gotten endless compliments on it (especially on how sparkly and shiny her ring was), and I couldn't be prouder. 

For our wedding a few weeks ago, we really could go to no other place but Washington Diamond to get our wedding bands because we know we could find the right style and fair price for our purchase. We again got wonderful service from Tom and love our wedding bands. Washington Diamond also helped clean my wife's engagement ring and helped polish it, which is a wonderful service they offer for all purchases made from them. 

We highly highly recommend Washington Diamond and will tell our friends, coworkers to go there for great service. People say that you have to know the 4 Cs (Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat) as you look into purchasing a diamond. I first learned of Washington Diamond back in 1994 when I was shopping for an engagement ring. The service was so good, that we got our wedding bands there as well. Since then, Washington Diamond has been there for us when I had them create a custom necklace for my wife and when we asked them to take my grandmother's cocktail ring and remake it for my wife. In addition to a couple of small pieces along the way, I just picked up a pair of beautiful diamond earrings for my wife as an anniversary present. My fiancé and I just purchased our wedding bands at Washington Diamond.  From the outset, it was a great experience.  We worked with Walter, who had previously sold me the engagement ring.  He knows his stuff, is patient (when you are working with people trying on lots of rings that's important) and all around great to work with.

Walter made the experience of buying an engagement ring easy and stress free. I told him what I was looking for and my budget, we drew up a sketch and picked out a stone. Instead of a diamond my girlfriend wanted a sapphire. Walter found various sapphire stones for me to chose from and explained to me the best cut for what I wanted. The ring looks wonderful, she said yes and everyone comments on how amazing the ring looks. It was a great experience and I highly recommend them. My husband had a great experience at Washington Diamond when he went to pick out and purchase my engagement ring. When it was time to pick out our wedding rings, we decided to go back to Washington Diamond and I'm so glad we did. We are very happy with our wedding rings! The gentleman we worked with was patient and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of rings from which to choose and because you have to have an appointment to go there, you have undivided attention from a jewelry expert. We never felt pushed into buying rings that weren't right for us either. For example, though I tried on wedding bands with diamonds in them, I knew I wanted a ring that was similar to my mother's. I wanted a solid, platinum, delicate band. I would think that many sales people would want to push the idea of adding diamonds to it, but the gentleman who was helping us never did that. Instead, he helped me find a band that coordinates beautifully with my engagement ring and is exactly what I wanted. My husband's band looks like it was meant to be on his hand. My fiance and I cared about finding a jeweler that was educated about conflict diamonds and (obviously) did not sell them. We also wanted to use a local jeweler to buy our rings. Washington Diamond came up right away in our initial search.  Of all of the websites for local jewelers that we visited, theirs was the only one that provided clear information about what a conflict diamond is and how to be sure that you are buying a safe diamond.

While this is what initially attracted us to Washington Diamond, we had an excellent experience with the staff. The service was phenomenal, and they had a wide variety of styles to choose from. They offered lots of information and answered all of our many questions. After purchasing the engagement ring with them, we went back to buy all of our wedding bands from them too.

My fiance and I had a very good experience with Washington Diamond.  If we ever need diamond jewelry again, I am sure that we will go back there again.  My fiance spent MONTHS searching for the right stone and setting.  He said that Tom at Washington Diamond had a great selection of stones and was very knowledgeable.  Another thing that is great about this store is that they aren't PUSHY.  They also really work with you to create exactly what you want.  I have tiny fingers and my fiance had wanted to get me  two very thin wedding bands just like his mom has.  Although they normally don't make rings that thin, they came up with a way to do it right there on the spot, and made it just perfectly.  For my fiance's ring the one we ordered first came back from the company they got it from with a few nicks, they ordered a replacement, and again it had nicks. (note: they don't use this company any more because of this incident)  With our wedding date getting ever closer, rather than risk another problem ring, they just had their metalsmith create one that was very similar, only EVEN BETTER than the original ring we were looking at.  

Regarding the other staff, the ladies who work up front who answer your calls and help you out when you come by are just lovely.  They are very nice and quite knowledgeable themselves.  

And as a personal aside, I LOVE my engagement ring.  They are always happy to clean it for me any time I drop by, but even when it is FILTHY, it still sparkles like nothing else I've ever seen, and people always comment about how pretty the detailed band work is.  They did a phenomenal job, and we couldn't be happier.  I would suggest them to anyone looking for an engagement ring or any other diamond jewelry.  Vail M, 9/8/09  Alexandria, VA

My husband (then-fiance) and I went to several places to look for wedding bands and finally felt comfortable and satisfied at Washington Diamond. We worked with Tom and he helped us find what we were looking for and patiently kept track of which designs I liked and didn't like. He's very polite and not pushy. He also gave us a nice discount when the sticker price didn't match the current value of my ring. I have already brought a friend to look for an engagement ring for his girlfriend, and my fiance has said he wished he'd gone to look their for my ring.
