Best Diamond Education Services for First… I recently was looking for a diamond engagement ring while knowing absolutely nothing about diamonds or rings at all.  After a considerable amount of researching the internet for info and potential places I happened upon Washington Diamond and signed up for an hour meeting to learn more about the process of finding and buying the perfect diamond ring.  With absolutely zero pressure to buy from them, Tom Daube went through just about everything there was to know about diamonds.  Ultimately I decided to come back and purchase my fiances ring from them after the experiencing their wonderful customer service, custom hand crafted rings and very reasonable prices.  Very highly recommend!  --Matt K, Arlington 10/27/10

I first learned of Washington Diamond back in 1994 when I was shopping for an engagement ring. The service was so good, that we got our wedding bands there as well. Since then, Washington Diamond has been there for us when I had them create a custom necklace for my wife and when we asked them to take my grandmother's cocktail ring and remake it for my wife. In addition to a couple of small pieces along the way, I just picked up a pair of beautiful diamond earrings for my wife as an anniversary present. Working by appointment only, this is a trustworthy dealer.  They are extremely patient to hear your needs, discuss prices and design your dream ring.  Their prices are very competitive and they only deal with GIA-certified diamonds.  They even tell you to go with another dealer when they don't think they can match the competitor's price (which happened in my case).

Wow. I'm still amazed at the fabulous service and professionalism we received. I still look at my hand and say "Wow" when I look at my rings. The personal contact and fast replies to emails have been extremely helpful, especially since I now live in NC. The quality for the dollar is amazing, and I frequently check out their site for additional good deals. This isn't just a great diamond store, but a great jewelry store, a great custom jewelry maker, and really, good metal working artists who are helping to make the most important rings you'll ever wear. I have no regrets at all that we chose this company.

Their web site has a lot of information on it, but that only helps to figure out what you like and dislike, although I still occasionally browse their site just for fun. When you sit down and look at loose stones is when you get your real education. Also, we were the type of high maintenance folks who said, "we want a 3 stone design, but with pears on the sides...and we saw a setting at a different company's site that we like...what do you have like that?" They were able to make us exactly what we had in mind, with a much higher quality stone that we thought we could afford.

My engagement ring is an oval diamond in a bezel setting designed by Washington Diamond. The compliments I get on it are amazing and non-stop. And the appraiser was very impressed with the quality of workmanship as well as the diamonds. Then, to make it even more amazing, WD designed a custom wedding band to suit the way I like to wear my rings that still looks like the two are a matched set. We also got my husband's plain platinum band from WD. The service has always been wonderful, and their staff is warm and very helpful when you have questions. Washington Diamond has a great team of professionals who give personal attention to the customer. From the time you walk in the door they make you feel right at home. Our salesman Walter Via was so patient with us. Never one time did he put pressure on us to make a purchase. Their selection and quality of diamonds sell themselves. Walter helped us to customize my husband's wedding band to match my wedding set as closely as possible. When we saw the finished product of our entire set of rings we were absolutely floored. The showroom is crisp and clean. Excellent lighting. Very attractive. There are no obstructions in the display cases. All of the jewelry is neatly displayed. Never out of order. And Maggie, she is a gem. She adds a special polish to their customer service. We love her energy. I will definitely make future purchases with them again. WD is not like any other jewelery store. We bought our wedding rings from them in 2004, and every time I visit the store, they know me by name and ask about my husband and our new daughter. Since then, I have bought other pieces from them and will have them make a special ring for my Mother on her 50th Bday. We have had others ask about my wedding ring and if it was hand made just for me. When you buy from them, you know you are not getting a ring that another bride has. Their designs are unique and one of a kind.They are very personal but do not force you to buy from them. But rather make sure you are fully informed about the product, whether you purchase from them or not. They don't follow you around in the store, asking you 50 questions. No pressure whatsoever!!
